Pint Berry Bowl
Pint Berry Bowl
These bowls are inspired by a small stoneware pint bowl I received as a wedding gift in 2000. An oversized handled latte cup pierced with holes, it was in constant use in my first home, moving from counter to garden, sink to butcher block to fridge. One day it slipped out of the fridge and broke on the floor. Once I became skilled enough to consistently throw the same shapes, I began to reproduce my lost berry bowl. As a young potter, these bowls often covered my mortgage payments during lean times. I have taken them out of rotation from time to time but they are on the permanent roster now.
Each bowl begins as 1 b of clay thrown on the wheel, trimmed, pierced, and finished with a strap handle. Each bowl holds a pint to quart of fruit, vegetables, or any other item for gathering, draining, rinsing, serving. Offered in satin cobalt (gloss available as preorder), gloss or satin white, satin copper celadon, and gloss aqua. Saucers are available as an add on for pints. Personally, I keep both my quart and pint bowls hanging under a cabinet and do not use a saucer.
Pint berry bowls measure between 4.5-5" in diameter and 2.25-2.5" tall. Interested in quarts? Find them here!
